Your consultation question list
Print it, save it to your phone, or copy it into a note.
- What are your qualifications, and who else might treat me?
- Where did you train for this procedure?
- Which product or device do you use?
- What should I expect over a full series?
- How should I care for the area afterward?
- What side effects are common, and which are rare?
- How do you handle problems if they come up?
- What will I pay in total, and is it in writing?
A short prep list
- Your medications, including vitamins and supplements.
- Health conditions and any recent changes.
- Allergies and past reactions to products or treatments.
- Past cosmetic procedures, with rough dates.
- Your questions for the provider.
- A notebook or phone to record answers and the quoted cost.
Having this ready helps a licensed provider decide what is suitable for you, and it means you are less likely to leave with an unanswered question.
Reasons to wait
It is your face, your skin and your money. You can leave a consultation without booking, and you can come back later.
Slow down if there is pressure to book the same day, if no one offers a proper consultation, if you get vague answers about who will perform the treatment, or if the provider will not give you the cost in writing. To look up a license, ask for the person's full name and license type, then search the North Carolina state board for that profession.
Ask your questions first. A local provider can contact you by phone, text or email.
